Re-open Explorer folders

ShellDispenser can let Explorer re-open the folders you had open before you closed Explorer.  This feature works on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7.  To re-open your folders, you have to switch on the Explorer folder option "Restore previous folder windows at logon".  How to do this is described below for each Windows version.

Windows 7 and Windows Vista

  • Open Windows Explorer
  • From the "Organize" menu select "Folder and search options"
  • In the folder options window select the tab "View"
  • In the advanced settings enable "Restore previous folder windows at logon"

Windows XP

  • Open Windows Explorer
  • From the menu select "Tools \ Folder options..."
  • In the folder options window select the tab "View"
  • In the advanced settings enable "Restore previous folder windows at logon"
